While I've featured holiday outfits that are more formal, many of you have told me you need holiday looks more appropriate for a casual get together at a friend's house or a happy hour with office colleagues. When Catherines reached out asking if I'd like to style some of their collection for the holidays, I decided to do some looks that will work from office to the restaurant down the street or your BFF's house Saturday evening.
In 1960 Catherine Weaver opened a plus size clothing boutique in Memphis, Tennessee. Over 50 years later, Catherines is still offering plus size fashions and intimates in over 400 shops across the country and online. Embracing the same sense of community on which it was founded in that little boutique in Memphis, Catherines wishes to engage, connect, inform, and inspire the women they serve, and deliver their brand promise, “We Fit You Beautifully.” I appreciate that Catherines has an extensive size range, going from 16W to 32W, 0X to 5X, and offering some styles in petites. The customer reviews helped me narrow down my selections and know what would work best with my figure.
I believe in buying a few trend pieces to work with staples already in your wardrobe. Catherines' Black Label Lace Pant (size 0X) is exactly that. With a luxe lace overlay and classic cut, these are pants that will glam up many items already existing in your closet. While I paired them here with a black cashmere turtleneck, they would also look great with a cream ruffled blouse, ivory blazer and black shell, black silk blouse, drapey black knit top, or get extra festive and style with a red sweater or top. Add a sparkly necklace and a red lip and you're ready for your next holiday get together.
I ordered the Irresistible Belted Dress (size 0X) thinking it would have a hint of shimmer as it appeared to have online. The dress is not sparkly, but it makes it more versatile. It's lined and skims the figure nicely. While it comes with a skinny belt, I liked it better on my figure with a wider obi belt; I added tall heeled boots for style and warmth. This is the kind of look that is perfect for going from work to a holiday happy hour. However, this is a dress that is extremely versatile. Layer over a black turtleneck for extra warmth, style with a denim jacket, remove the belt and wear with long jet beads to dress it up, come spring wear with tan suede accents. It's fully lined, super comfy, travel friendly, and machine washable.
I'm so glad Catherines reached out regarding this partnership; it's a pleasure to find a fashion resource with an extensive size selection that is kind on your wallet. The pieces I tried are well made and styles that can we wardrobe favorites this holiday season and beyond.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Catherines. The opinions and text are all mine.

Today is more like my Friday because I will be on a plane tomorrow to Miami to catch a weekend cruise to the Bahamas! Yee-haw! I will not be posting again until Tuesday at the earliest, and my goal is to photograph my looks while on my trip. Anyway, back to today’s outfit. Black v-neck…

This post is sponsored by Macy’s and ShopStyle. There’s many different women in my closet, but one who remains is the one who loves classic style with a slight edge. Breton striped tops, blazers, dark denim, red lips, classic aviators. One thing I have always wanted in my closet was a classic camel coat but…

Both outfits look great on you. The little pops of red with the first outfit are perfect. Thanks for always including multiple styling tips with your posts. When I shop for an article of clothing, I can only ever think of the most obvious ways of pairing it with other items in the store or in my wardrobe. But you give me lots more ideas.
I’m not familiar with the brand but it seems to have a lot to offer. Can you tell us anything about the product quality?
Thanks!

I know, right? They could even work in the warmer months with a shell or cami!
Those pants are amazing!
Thank you!
Both good looks on you.
Thanks Patricia!
The lace print bottom is such a marvellous garment – I dont think I had seen one that looked this good.
I was pleasantly surprised by them when they arrived in the mail!
