Today is World AIDS Day. This year's theme is Getting to Zero.
Zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths… and zero discrimination.
There are 1.2 million people living with HIV in the United States, and one in five are unaware of their infection. Think you don't know anyone infected with HIV? Think again. HIV affects all genders with any sexual preference, any age demographic, any race, income or education level.
When was the last time you got tested? Are you aware of the current treatments for those with HIV? Do you honestly know how one can get HIV and how to prevent being infected? Education is power… and the way that we can all work together in Getting to Zero.
